At <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/kiin.tech\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kiin<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, we are deeply saddened to hear about these experiences that impact the lives and well-being of employees. We firmly believe that every individual deserves a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment. This moment serves as a reminder of the crucial role Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training plays in creating positive and lasting change.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The reality of the McDonald\u2019s problem<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We begin by acknowledging the gravity of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/business-65388445\"><b>cases of harassment<\/b><\/a><b>, abuse, racism, and discrimination<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that have been exposed in the fast-food chain&#8217;s restaurants. These situations have a negative impact on employees&#8217; emotional and professional well-being. As a society, we must address these issues with seriousness and empathy, seeking effective solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The responsibility of organizations<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is essential for organizations to take responsibility for creating safe and protected environments. In addition to fostering a culture of secure reporting and clear policies, it is crucial to implement effective trainings that generate positive changes in employees&#8217; attitudes and behaviors.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Challenges with current training solutions<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Current DEI training solutions can be uninspiring and ineffective &#8211; as evidenced by the news report where some employees skipped steps in their training while preparing ice creams using an iPad. Furthermore, in some organizations where training is mandatory or emphasizes the threat of lawsuits, it can have negative effects on management diversity.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The Importance of Evidence-Based Training<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To create more inclusive cultures, we must ensure that training is based on techniques backed by evidence. Bad training can inadvertently polarize and hinder our collective aim to build inclusive environments.
